One night, a mysterious man by the name of captain cornball was murdered at a party he was hosting...now we must figure out who did it...
This was a project where we had to analyze a crime scene and figure out the backgrounds of all of the suspects and who the evidence pointed to in the end. There was numerous evidence, but generally the quick version was this:
Captain Cornball was released from prison after changing his name, and invited numerous people that he considered "acquaintances" to a party one night. Some of them did not know who he was.
His napkin had "U R A DED MAN" written on it, and suddenly in the dark he was stabbed with a knife. One person, Norma Nanny, claimed that she cut herself in the midst of the darkness. She was treated for, and Captain Cornball was pronounced dead. Evidence and background stories were collected from everyone. After performing many tasks, like analyzing for fingerprints, DNA sequences, ink type, and motives, we collected them all and put our opinion on the matter into our presentation.

We learned from this project how a crime analyst works and all of the experiments and background checks he performs in order to figure out any leads. It turns out that a lot of chemistry and biology is involved in this. For instance, we had to look into DNA and karyotypes and see if anyone happened to have any disorders, like Huntington's disease or any extra chromosomes with side effects. We dusted for fingerprints and looked under a UV light. We eventually figured out a lot of potential evidence. Look at our slideshow PDF above to find out more.
Our presentation went okay, but there were some things that we should have worked on. For instance, we probably should have practiced more on our presentation and maybe taken it much more seriously. The analysis of the evidence was another thing we should have spent more time on. It's not like we weren't taking that seriously either, but we treated it a little more like an elementary school project, where we expected the answer would be as clear as day. With that mindset in our heads, we didn't consider that the O type blood could have come from Captain Cornball and we assumed it was Sam Stubs as well.
But we had a lot of good things too. We all worked well together, and we were all active in our work. Nothing was specifically thrown upon one specific person.
We also had a lot of ideas on the crime motive, and we were quite creative with them. For instance, we believed that Captain Cornball was related to an unsolved murder that
